To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
I think…. Cancer is a gift. To know that you might die soon is a chance. A chance to fix everything. To fix the relationships you might leave behind and to make most of the rest of your life. A chance to see and appreciate life and what you have. A chance to repent and go to heaven. As Dr. Seuss quoted, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
